Music Department

Students are busy mastering learning goals outlined by the district.

Primary grades (K-2) learn to read music notation, the concepts of melody and rhythm, movement to music skills, as well as developing the skill of singing on pitch with others.

Intermediate grades also work on reading music notation as well as singing on pitch with others,and improvising simple 2 -4 measure rhythms.

We enjoy the use of our brand new SMART technology interactive board to connect music and technology.

The 4th and 5th grade chorus students prepare for two major performances each year. In December they perform at “Reading Under the Stars” and in April they perform at Science Night.
